We’re in the news!

The Brent and Kilburn Times is out today, and we’re in it, talking about how various local businesses have really got behind our campaign and are rooting for us to reach our Spacehive fundraising goal by next Monday (25 September). If you know of a local business who could get involved and give us some cash, please talk to them, and put them in touch with us. We’re so close, but there’s still so much left to raise, in just over a week. We’d love to hear from any business that can offer us a leg-up to reach £114,000 by a week on Monday.

Poster – Updated

Hi all. Thanks again to the lovely Francine for making us a striking poster. This one is updated with our latest news – we have a pledge from the Mayor of London, taking us halfway to our target. We have 36 days left to raise the remaining money.

Please help us by sharing this post as widely as possible. If you can help us DELIVER these leaflets, we could do with your help. Please email us with your availability. I can deliver leaflets to your door and you can do the streets around where you live.

BUSINESSES – we need you! Can you put a poster in your window to show you support us? Or take some leaflets for your counter? Download A3 poster in pdf form Crick Lib text poster V15.

We’re open to any offers.

Big love.

Great Cricklewood Library Jumble Trail

There’s no easy way to say this. We need your money. Here’s why.

We need to raise £114,000 to reopen the library (and then some).

We’ve raised £60,000 on Spacehive.

We need another £50,000-ish

We have 40 days to do it in (before 25/9/17 – or we don’t get any of the money)

We know you love us, and that you really, really, want to see the library reopen on the old site at 152 Olive Road.
So here’s an opportunity to raise money for the library AND get rid of your old stuff at the same time.

Please join in our jumble sale trail. On Sunday 3 September, get yourselves out on your driveway or in your garage door with all the stuff you’ve been meaning to take to the charity shop for years (be honest!!! – you have, haven’t you??) and sell it off. And then donate a percentage of your profits to the library’s Spacehive campaign. A percentage could be 1%, or it could be 100% – it’s up to you. Whatever you pledge, we’ll be grateful.

If all of that is too much trouble, please just head over to Spacehive and give us some of your cold, hard cash. We’re not proud. If you’d rather not donate on line, we also accept cheques, payable to Friends of Cricklewood Library, and sent to 116 Olive Road, NW2 6UU.

Fundraising Council of War

The Trustees of Friends of Cricklewood Library met for a council of war on Thursday to thrash out plans to raise the remaining £53,421 to reach our target of £114,908 by 25 September. We have reached 52% of our target, with 213 backers for our project, but with only 46 days to go to raise the remaining amount, it’s all hands on decks.

We are so close to reaching our target and having our library back – can you help make it happen? Email us if you can.

Another Successful Fundraising Venture!

Our librarian, Steven Cary, took himself off to the Preston Road Library Table Day today, and sold off some pre-loved items in favour of the library. He made over £150! Here he is on the day, and with his well-earned cash.

Could you run a similar yard sale and give us (some of) the profits? All fundraising ideas welcome to help us reach our ambitious but achievable target.

Mayor of London Pledges £40k to our Crowdfunding Campaign

The Trustees were at City Hall tonight to receive a pledge from the Mayor of London for our Crowdfunding Campaign. Campaign Chair Sally Long did an amazing and very persuasive pitch. There were 78 projects from all over London, and there was some pretty tough competition from some fantastic, inspiring projects. We’re very proud to say that we were awarded £40,000, the largest pledge made on the evening and we are very grateful for the Mayor’s confidence in our campaign and in our plans.

This takes us almost halfway there to our target of £118,000, together with your generous individual pledges. This really puts the pressure on now – if we don’t reach the total, we don’t get any of the money. Not one single penny. And we only have until 25 September to do this! PLEASE help us get there. Share our Spacehive page link with as many people as you can, and really encourage people to give whatever they can. It’s all or nothing!
