The group is currently on a break. Please check back here for information on when it will resume. In the meantime, why not join the waitlist by filling in our form below.
Each session will be in two parts. The first will be a series of warm-up and creative exercises followed by an exploration of a specific form, style, or element of writing.
The second half of each session will be a ‘show and share’ space for participants to ask questions, receive feedback on any personal projects that they are currently working on.
We expect this class to be popular. If you register but then don’t turn up to the first class, we will give your place to the next person on the waiting list.
Workshops take place on Tuesday evenings, from 1900-2100 starting Tuesday 10 January. Places are limited, so, to avoid disappointment, reserve your place today!
Please complete our enrollment form and we’ll get back to you shortly.
Please note the group is currently at capacity. We’ll contact you when there are spaces available.
Meet The Workshop Leader
Originally from South Africa, Daniel began his television career in high school, getting up close to sharks, snakes, and zebras as a wildlife documentary presenter and writer.
He went on to briefly study journalism until a holiday job found him hanging out with an armed gang in a drug den.
Questioning what he was doing with his life, he promptly moved to creative writing. Whether this was a safer career path is very much debatable.
His television career has continued with award-winning work in advertising and a writers’ room position at a global animation studio.
His debut play, Seahorse, co-written with Taiyo Yoshida, was staged at Theatre 503 in 2022.
Currently, he is completing a new television pilot with Taiyo while they also continue to work on their second play.
Greetings keen scribblers! This is to say that Cricklewriters, our friendly weekly writing group, is currently on a break. Dan, the workshop leader, is away for a few weeks and while the group gets organised to lead itself in his absence, it's taking a short break....
