Friends of Cricklewood Library

FOCL is a charity that has grown out of a group of local residents and concerned people who have campaigned for some 20 years against the closure of the library. It is completely voluntary. The core of the original committee remain as Trustees of the charity, and are joined by people with valuable additional skills and experience, including publishing, business management, fund raising, IT, social enterprise and campaigning.

We are a Registered Charity, number 1168381. We are a company limited by guarantee, number 08532535.

Sally Long

Chair

Sally is an editor, copywriter and writer. She has written for the Metropolitan Police, TimeOut and The Grocer. She has edited government inquiry reports and policy documents.
Sally has administrative and marketing experience, and worked in education for the Qualification and Curriculum Authority. Her skills include document management, running and chairing meetings, conferences and community fairs and activities in private and public and voluntary sectors. She was dramaturg and promoter for successful fringe production Frank’s Closet, coordinating PR, raising funds and profile through social media, and coordinating promotional activities. Sally and has experience raising funds for art projects through crowdfunding platforms, grant applications and sponsorship.

Allen Evangelista

Allan Evangelista spent his toddler years in Cricklewood, before moving up the road to Kingsbury.

He’s a qualified accountant (CIMA) since 2018, and has worked in finance for around 10 years (industries include food, confectionery, shoes, software).

He has previously and currently volunteered (budgeting, reporting and year end accounting) for an NGO in the Philippines (via Accountancy for International Development – AfiD) & an arts company in the UK.

He has an MSc in Mathematics from Queen Mary, University of London.

In his spare time, he runs (~50km a month), cycles (~120km a month), and fits in the odd round of golf.

Wendy Tyrrell

Vice Chair

Wendy has an MA in Information Services Management from London Met University. She is a local mum of one and and has lived in Cricklewood since 2006. Her working life currently consists of developing and managing WordPress sites for small businesses and running not-for-profit organisations, When not working for money she is a serial volunteer and general campaigning busybody.

Amongst her other passions are reading (naturally), playing the violin, and singing. She runs an amateur a cappella harmony group called Wrablers.

Princess Francis

Princess was born and bred in Brent, growing up in Willesden before moving to Cricklewood
in 2012. She is a local mum and is passionate about her local community.
Princess began her professional career in Human Resources many years ago and has since
moved over into Business Improvement and Quality Management. She is currently working
in Higher Education as a Quality Manager for a Music University. Princess also runs a party
entertainment service for children and families, which means she spends a lot of her spare
time dancing around and popping huge confetti canons!
As well as her role as Trustee, Princess manages the library’s social media accounts and
leads on communications on a voluntary basis, something which she thoroughly enjoys.
