Garden Talks With Elayne – The Soil, its Food Web and Climate

29 February @ 14:00 - 15:30

Free

Each garden has areas that are colder, wetter, drier, windier than others. What does this mean for the soil and the plants and creatures that live in it? How can we ensure that our soil is healthy and fit for purpose n every zone of our garden? How can ensure that the food web is complete?

This talk will be given by Elayne Coakes. Elayne learnt to garden by doing and creating, and now on her 3rd garden she is happy withthe results. Even though it is still evolving.

Self-taught,she has combined research, reading and creativity, along with visiting many gardens, in many countries, with her husband, which allowed them to take away ideas, to design a garden of eclectic planting that has been featured in magazines, TV, and theNational Garden Scheme Yellow Book.

She loves clematis and has written a number of articles for the British journal and now obsesses over succulents and dry, wildlife friendly, sustainable gardening.
