This talk will be mostly based around the plants that grow in my garden – with pictures taken as they flowered. It is a rare month, with unusual weather when there is not a clematis or two in flower. In addition, I will talk about some species that can grow, and flourish, in different climate conditions.
Today’s talk is by Elayne Coakes. Elayne learnt to garden by doing and creating, and, now on her 3rd garden. she is happy with the results. Even though it is still evolving.
Self-taught,she has combined research, reading and creativity, along with visiting many gardens, in many countries, with her husband, which allowed them to take away ideas, to design a garden of eclectic planting that has been featured in magazines, TV, and the National Garden Scheme Yellow Book.
She loves clematis and has written a number of article for the British journal and now obsesses over succulents and dry, wildlife friendly, sustainable gardening.
