Tai Chi with Nicola Chance

Tai Chi Movements for Wellbeing (TMW ™) is a simple sequence of movements, which combine the essential elements of Tai Chi (Chuan) and Chi Kung (Qi Gong) to allow you to feel the benefits of these wonderful arts easily.

As an embodying series of movements TMW aims to bring presence, relaxation, mental and emotional stability and self-worth to the participant with physical benefits to core strength, balance, flexibility and stability.  TMW was developed by Tai Chi master, Richard Farmer and neuropsychologist Dr David Quinn. It has proven helpful managing long-term health conditions and caring for ourselves as change and age. The essential principles underlying the sequence enable you to explore TMW for yourself.  This allows you to strengthen the particular areas that need attention, in your own time and in your own way.

TMW invites you to release, rest and rebalance your body and mind.  By returning to a centred, more natural state of being that you can begin to change your relationship with yourself, others and the world.  The movements and gestures are inherently graceful and flowing and can be practiced both sitting and standing, or a combination of the two.  TMW is truly accessible to all whatever age or fitness level.

No special equipment is needed, although soft-soled shoes though which you can feel the ground are recommended.

TMW is a gentle set of movements with a powerful effect!

Hello I’m Nicola Chance.  I was inspired to train as a Tai Chi movements for Wellbeing (TMW ™) trainer after being introduced to the protocol by Sarah Deco, who has been teaching TMW in the area for many years.  Doing the TMW protocol has brought subtle but profound benefits to me and I am keen to share it with others.
