Volunteers Needed for Upcoming Table Days

We need volunteers to join us for our monthly table days outside the library. The table days are where we meet our future and potential users, so they’re vital to help us shape the new library. They’re also very social – it’s a great way to meet your neighbours over a cup of coffee and slice of chocolate brownie.

If you’d like a bit of this, please volunteer for the next one…. We’ll be outside the library again, collecting email addresses for the mailing list, collecting donations and generally making friends, on Saturday 25 March, 1000-1300. Come on down and be part of the new library buzz.

New Library Window Frames

It may not look like much, but this is huge progress. After months of no work on sealing the ground floor, window frames have appeared on the front and sides of the library premises. The glass is still M.I.A., but we have hopes of it appearing soon.

In the meantime, this photo makes a nice desktop pic, don’t you think?

First Library Table Day a Success!

We had our first Library Table Day today, on a cold, blustery, grey February day, enlivened only by the great coffee, tasty cakes, good company and general air of bonhomie. We had visitors from the Park Run (hi Park Run people!), families looking at flats in the development across the road, a smattering of dog walkers (with very cute pooches!) and some cold, but friendly random passers-by join us for a cuppa and a natter about the library.

We had some volunteers sign up for the mailing list and for the many, many tasks that lie ahead. The plan is to run monthly table events until we open the library later in the year. Can you volunteer to help at them? The upcoming dates are (all Saturdays 1000-1300):

24 June
22 July
26 August
